Fostoria Baptist Church Welcomes You!

Whether visiting for the first time or returning again, it would be our privilege to have you attend Fostoria Baptist Church of Fostoria, MI. Your visit here is important to us. We’re a group of common people who love the Lord and enjoy fellowship one with another. Our church can be a place for you – like a church family.  As a guest you should expect a friendly handshake from our greeters… they will be happy to assist you with any needs you may have.  They can help you find a class or nursery for your child where they will be cared for by loving workers in a clean, safe environment.

Valet parking service is available for the elderly and handicapped by letting an usher or greeter know when you enter.

How should I come dressed?

Our church welcomes you as you are; we do not have a specific dress code for our public services.  If you have never attended, and would feel more comfortable knowing what to expect, simply know that a majority of our church members strive for their “Sunday Best” and seek to look their sharpest.  Ladies usually will wear a modest knee-length skirt, and men will wear a dress shirt and tie.  Once again, these are not required, but are listed here for your benefit.

What about my children?

Our church is all about children, too.  Little children and infants are cared for in age appropriate nurseries and classes.  We have several kids’ programs available including a full array of Sunday school classes for all ages.  More information is available on our website.

What is Sunday school?

The Sunday school hour meets at 10:00 a.m.  Upon your arrival to church, greeters at the door can show you where the children’s classes are.  There is a place for everyone.  Principles from the Bible for everyday living are taught at an age-appropriate level.  Sunday school ends at 10:45 a.m.

What is the morning worship service?

The morning worship service is the main service of Fostoria Baptist Church.  We meet at 11:00 a.m., and the service includes music from our congregation, orchestra, and choir as well as a time for preaching.  Our songs are conservative in nature, and the preaching of God’s Word is of an evangelistic nature.  We trust you will enjoy the morning worship service and that your heart will be greatly blessed by being present for this special time.

What about the Sunday night service?

The evening service on Sunday starts at 7:00 p.m. and is sometimes referred to as the “family hour” or “family service” because the younger children are in the service.  The preaching is directed more to the needs of Christians and their daily walk with God.  This family, friendly atmosphere is evident during this wonderful time together.  This service is both a blessing and a challenge for those needing encouragement, help, and strength in their Christian life.

What goes on Wednesday night?

Fostoria Baptist Church has a Wednesday night service that starts at 7:00 p.m.  This is our midweek prayer service. Geared in a manner of Bible teaching, adults receive instruction from God’s Word usually in a topic-oriented environment.  Nursery and special clubs are provided for babies and children up to 6th grade.  7th through 12 graders meet in the Youth Room for a time of games, singing, and a message from the Word of God directed specifically for teenagers.

What’s the invitation?

The invitation is the last part of each Sunday service at Fostoria Baptist.  It is simply a time, if people so choose, to respond to what God has spoken to their heart about.  This is done by coming forward and kneeling to pray.  This time is important as people can make life-changing decisions that affect their life in a positive way for the Lord.  It is at this time that you can request for someone to pray with you or make your decision for the Lord public.  We have trained staff who would be happy to assist you during the invitation.  The greatest need would be to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior.
