Fostoria Baptists Church believes that each child is a special gift from God. Our desire is to provide the best love and care possible for each individual child. This brochure is to inform you about our nursery. The purpose, policies, procedures, and guidelines for sickness are all included on this webpage, as well as information about our nursery classes. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about our nursery. We are happy to have your child in our nursery.
Our Purpose
At Fostoria Baptist Church we want to provide an atmosphere where parents feel comfortable leaving their children in the nursery. We also want each child to think of the nursery as a safe place where they can feel secure, loved, and cared for. It is the desire of each nursery worker to demonstrate the love of Jesus and to teach the Bible to each child from infancy to the toddler years.
II Timothy 3:15 says, “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” Thank you for the opportunity and privilege of caring for your child.
Our Policies
- Our nursery is for all children ages birth through 3 years of age.
- Nursery care is available only for children of parents/guardians who are participating in the services and activities of the church.
- Children are not to be left in the nursery unless there is a worker present to receive the child. The parent should stay in the room until the worker arrives.
- Children of any age are not permitted to be in the nursery after the services have been dismissed and the workers have left, unless they are supervised by a Parent/Guardian.
- To reduce congestion in the nursery, we request that only one parent drop off and pick up each child. Please do not allow your non-nursery age children to enter the nursery doors. They will need to wait in the hallway or stay with the other parent.
- Workers will receive the child at the receiving counter or entrance door of the nursery. Please to do not enter the nursery area.
- Never slip away from your child. Tell him in a kind, firm voice that you are going to church and will be back soon. Leave immediately. If your child continues to be upset, we will page you or come get you.
- Please pick up your child immediately after each service.
- Only parents are allowed to pick up children from the nursery, unless specified on the sign in sheet. However, no one under the age of 1will be allowed to pick up any child from the nursery for any reason.
- Please do not allow your child to bring in chewing gum, candy, or personal items into the nursery.
- If you are not assigned to work in the nursery, please do not remain in the nursery. If the workers feel that they need help, they will page the nursery coordinator and she will assign someone to help. The only exception is for nursing mothers.
